After receiving a new round of venture capital funding for ambitious growth plans, Spotless Water approached Make Studio to help develop a new brand. This self-service water distribution network is the first of its kind in the UK, and gives consumers access to ultra-pure water at service stations 24/7, 365 days a year. With their injection of funding, the business was looking to reposition as a technology supplier to accelerate their growth.
The rebrand had clear and focused goals that would ultimately lead to an increase in sales for Spotless Water. The target was to ensure that Spotless Water was recognised as, first and foremost, a technology innovation company, and to elevate the existing brand to a more premium, corporate facing look and feel. Because the brand was already well established with high recognition in the core target market – which included window cleaners and car valets – it was important that we took care not to alienate these existing, loyal customers.
With international ambitions
With Spotless Water targeting international expansion as part of its growth strategy, substantial research had to be undertaken to explore and understand these new markets. Make Studio facilitated a full day scoping workshop to gather key stakeholders to understand and agree the business goals, objectives, customer personas, competitors and – most vitally – the vision for the project.
The Make team created two initial creative concepts for Spotless Water to consider. The chosen creative route was then further refined and expanded into comprehensive brand guidelines.
With a fresh design
A comprehensive rebrand was delivered for Spotless bringing the brand to life through re-imagined iconography, photography and templates. This was executed across the distribution network including station re-designs, welcome packs and van designs as well as e-newsletter templates.
We created a refined, bold and future facing brand that puts technology and innovation at the heart of the business. At the centre of the identity sits a symbol of unity, community and totality – our interpretation of the word Spotless is an icon that supports large global networks and small independent businesses.
A strong typographic system underpins the brand, enabling clean and refined visual executions that reflect the pure nature of the product.
After the new Spotless Water brand was introduced to the market the company has continued on an upward trajectory of growth and expansion while opening doors into new markets and opportunities in technology innovation and supply.
