MANN+HUMMEL is a worldwide leader in filtration technology, known for engineering precision and industrial innovation. With 60 years of membrane expertise they are addressing one of the world’s most urgent challenges: access to clean water. Their cutting-edge spiral-wound membranes are used in seawater desalination but the story around them was overly technical, inward-looking, and underpowered visually.
Our brief was to craft a compelling animated film to be used across global trade shows and exhibitions, crafting a narrative that would break from sector norms, raise awareness across markets, and position MANN+HUMMEL as a key player in the future of water desalination.

Expressing the transformative journey of water
We grounded our creative direction in the core feature of the product: its spiral structure. This concept of spirals became our visual anchor, a perfect metaphor for the inner workings of the filtration membranes and the continuous movement of water through innovation. We built the animation around fluid forms and the refractive qualities of light through water that echo both the beauty and precision of membrane technology.
Rather than leaning into mechanical tropes or schematic illustration we developed a brand story that could flow seamlessly from product detail to global impact. The creative direction embraced light, form, and motion, expressing the transformative journey of water through the spiral elements, from seawater to clean drinking water.
