For the release of Garmin’s cutting-edge Edge cycling computer, we embarked on an ambitious project titled “Let Others Follow”. Based in the picturesque landscapes of Girona, Spain, and the rugged terrains of Tucson, Arizona, our mission was to encapsulate the essence of this transformative tech.
Girona and Tucson weren’t just scenic backdrops; they became integral characters in our narrative. Here, four of Garmin’s most celebrated cyclists demonstrated the prowess of the Edge. Through their lenses, we visualized a world where training data was not limited to one rider or one location, but shared in real-time across continents, fostering a sense of camaraderie and unified team spirit despite the geographical distances.
The challenge of logistics, securing permissions for iconic spots, and ensuring every frame did justice to the locales kept us on our toes. Our production teams had to overcome challenges, integrating intricate lighting systems and innovative filming techniques to capture every pedal, every breath, every beat of the heart.
Back at the studio, our post-production teams married the raw footage with sleek motion graphics. These animations subtly but effectively spotlighted the state-of-the-art GPS capabilities of the Edge. Our meticulous sound engineers breathed life into the film with two distinct audio tracks, ensuring the ambience was just right. Flawlessly rendered CGI visuals of the Edge cycling computer itself, were created in-house to end the film with.
Our collaborative journey with Garmin culminated in a piece that resonated deeply within the industry and garnered overwhelming appreciation from viewers. This wasn’t just a film; it was about the spirit of cycling, the camaraderie of sport, and the innovation of technology. We’re profoundly proud of what we achieved together.
