The Make Studio Christmas card is always a chance for the studio team to group together and get the festive creative juices flowing, producing something that little bit extra special to land on our clients desks.
As a studio we love the unusual and admire the brave, priding ourselves on producing high-quality, unique designs that capture attention through a premium and refined approach.
With this ethos we wanted to explore a new production technique for us here at the studio – laser cutting live edge acrylic. Our concept was ‘flat-pack’ Xmas tree’s – beautifully simple, yet with the neon green live edge acrylic really highlighting the geometric shape and creating an eye-catching table topping design piece. This flat-pack approach was not only essential to post the trees but also ticked the box of integrating an interactive element to the card – with each side of the tree laser etched with Make Studio and Make Believe – mirroring the idea of both studios working together as one.
Another very important part of the brief was not creating something throw-away that adds to people’s Xmas rubbish pile. To create something that lasts we opted for robust 5mm acrylic, encouraging people to keep hold of the trees for next year where the concept will be expanded upon (watch this space).
