Make Studio were approached by Fold Hill to help create a new brand for their latest product launching into the pet food market – a premium patisserie-style treat range for dogs.
Ruffingtons sits in a unique space. Currently there are no dog specific brands that offer luxury dog gifting at the highest level. Our challenge was to create a brand to cut through the plethora of non-premium, cartoony, child-like peers and bring a sophisticated, grown-up and aspirational alternative.
After an extensive strategy, research and market immersion period – consisting of target audience research sessions, brand workshops, surveys and YouGov analysis – a full naming process was undertaken with Ruffingtons being chosen to champion this exciting new product range.
The team here in the studio designed a brand with an exquisite attention to detail. Beautifully crafted, the identity takes cues from timeless, classic patissiere aesthetics, drawing upon some art deco-inspired styling and bold palette but always with a fresh, contemporary British twist.
Playing on the narrative of ‘edible works of art’ at the core of the brand sits a collection of striking patterns – eye-catching and confident yet elegant and sophisticated. Made to turn heads, there’s no mistaking that these gifts are from the heart, wrapped up, unforgettably, for that special canine friend.
